Zucchini Seedling
Here's a zucchini seedling I started indoors. They grow amazingly fast. In just 2 weeks, this little plant was ready to be transplanted outdoors.

Zucchini in the Garden
Here is the same zucchini plant just a few short weeks after being transplanted outdoors. I highly recommend growing zucchini in their own containers because they will crowd out any other plants in your garden, including each other.

Zucchini Flower
The flowers on a zucchini plant are edible. They are a great addition to salads, especially for company. I usually don't eat too many of the flowers, though, because I want my zucchinis to produce lots of the vegetable for other uses. But aren't they lovely?

Zucchini Pickings
This is a typical harvest every 2-3 day harvest from my zucchini plants last summer. Keep the small zucchinis for fresh eating (they're more tender) and use the bigger ones for cooking.

Shredded Zucchini
I shred most of my bigger zucchinis to make relish, marmalade, muffins, even soup. Typically, I store them in 4-cup and 2-cup portions in my freezer and use them as needed in my recipes. The shreds can even be added to spaghetti sauce and stir-fry meals.
